Writing Succinctly

I think writing succinctly is an extremely underrated skill, and one I wish to further develop. The best books, VIC articles, pitches, and essays all have two things in common: brevity and clarity. Writing with an elevated vocabulary and an intricate argument is less impressive to me: anyone can open a thesaurus and find a way to complicate something. Simplifying something complex requires much more skill. While I know this isn't a contrarian take per se, I often have to remind myself of this.
