Writing Succinctly

I think writing succinctly is an extremely underrated skill, and one I wish to further develop. To me, the best books, VIC articles, pitches, and essays all have two things in common: brevity and clarity. Writing with sophisticated vocabulary through an intricate argument is less impressive to me: anyone can open a thesaurus and find a way to complicate something. Simplifying complexity requires much more skill. While I know this isn't a contrarian take, I often have to remind myself of this.
